Sims 3 ps3 problems help?

i got sims 3 on ps3 and havent played it in a while so when i played it recently i had to do an update. once the update was finished i noticed my save file was gone so i started a new game. so i played that night but the next morninng when i tried to load my game it was gone. so started a new game but same thing happened. does anyone know why?
