The Sims 3 turns off by itself?

I've downloaded The Sims 3 (so it's obviously an illegal copy of the game), installed it, replaced the game file with a crack. I get EA games screen, the short movie showing the families and city etc. and then the screen with the loading bar. After the loading bar loads entirely, the game turns off by itself. I haven't played this game in a couple years, but last time I did everything exactly the same and it worked perfectly. Somebody please help me, I can't afford to buy the original copy of the game...
